The “Qualifying Standard” is not a pre-defined pass mark, but is a term used to describe the minimum standardised score an applicant must achieve in the Grammar School Test in order to be considered for entry to the School. Prior to the closing date for submission of the CAF, confirmation will be sent to parents indicating whether or not their child has achieved the Qualifying Standard. The Local Authority allocates places to those children who have met the Qualifying Standard and whose parents have expressed a preference for the School in the CAF, in the order set out in the School’s oversubscription criteria outlined below. Parents should note that meeting the Qualifying Standard and being eligible to be considered for admission to the School is not a guarantee of an offer of a place.
