Following the First Round Tests, the results of the verbal, non-verbal and English questions will be combined, standardised and placed in rank order. TEST TYPES | English and Mathematics both multiple choice After the tests are completed they will be marked, and the scores achieved will be standardised taking account of the ages of the candidates. The scores from the two tests will be combined to produce a single, overall entrance test score for each candidate. Those candidates achieving a combined score of 210 or higher will be deemed to have met the standard required by the Governors to be eligible to be considered for admission to the School. In practice, only boys with scores over 234 are likely to attain a place on allocations day or via the waiting list |

London Borough of Enfield
Latymer School
There is only one grammar school in Enfield, the Latymer School, which is mixed.
In 2016 there were 1974 applications. In 2012 there were 1741 applications (for 2013 entry). In 2011 there were 1675 applicants. In 2008 there were 1778 applications.
Latymer allocate up to 20 places based on exceptional musical standard. Those seeking these places have to also sit the entrance test.
For entry in 2023, Latymer School will use GL Assessment. The Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning paper will be written by Gl Assessment and the English exam will be written by the school.

TEST TYPES | GL Mathematics & Verbal Reasoning in multiple choice format in one paper of 60 minutes in length. The second paper in English is written by the School and will be 60 mins covering reading and writing sections. The Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics papers will be scored first. These results will be combined to give an age standardised result for each applicant in rank order. Those ranking 1 to 650 will have their English papers marked by staff at the school and the raw score will be added to the Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics raw scores by the test provider in order to produce re-standardised age related results for the top 650 cohort 192 places will be offered in order reflecting our oversubscription criteria. |
